About

Welcome to my blog (PEtop5.com).  My motivation for this endeavor stems from my desire to network and connect with all of the amazing PE teachers out there as well as share my passion for promoting healthy living.

My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in both physical education and business from Ithaca College and a masters degree in special education from SUNY Cortland.

I taught elementary PE for ten years.  During this time, I helped write a winning PEP Grant (2008-2011) and then became the grant’s project director while maintaining my full teaching load.  Needless to say, that was a very busy few years!

Currently, I am working for Active Schools, which is part of Action for Healthy Kids. I continue to support OPEN and the great things that they do. I am also part of the faculty at SUNY Cortland. It is a busy schedule, but I enjoy being an advocate for physical activity and physical education.

The most important thing in my life is my family. I have a beautiful wife and son. We love to take walks, read books, and spend time with the rest of our extended family.  I would not be where I am today, without their love and support.  Time seems to fly by faster than ever, so I cherish and make the most of every day. I love these two more than anything!
